Pretty sure that pic was done as a joke. Let's please keep things in line and not tread into dangerous ground.
I'm pretty sure it a p-chop.

Sense of humor required.

That's my point.
And the sugar fountain fairy swore so hard when she came to super-size that stale hope soybean; liiiike a homeless German woman. Who is this super-sizing spirit-crushing femme? And tell her I'll break a tree root up in her shrimp.

Being faster than you thought possible…it feels good. No, screw thatâ€"it feels like shotgunning a gallon of adrenaline and chasing it with an all-night orgy aboard a burning Viking boat.

Got to shoot my buddy's Mac-10 yesterday.  I have to say, happiness is full auto.  Then as we were getting ready to leave, we started talking to the guy next to us about some of his guns, one of which was a WW2 Thompson.  He let us each put a mag through it.  Man, that thing was a tank but there was no recoil and muzzle rise was minimal.  Really fun to shoot.

That looks like something I could easily get in trouble with!  If I have a small windfall, I might have to acquire one of them!!!!!

You can pick up a 37mm version of an M203 which is a smoothbore plastic barrel launcher without a DD tax.  You can reload the shells with black powder for a low pressure shell.

"Yelling out of cars, turning your speakers out the window to blast your music onto the street, setting off M-80 firecrackers, firing automatic weapons into the airâ€"these are all well and good. But none of them create a merry atmosphere of insouciance and bonhomie quite like a revving motorcycle.

I think that as it stands doesn't need the DD tax.

I might be wrong.

Smoothbore 25-26.5mm flares do not.

Once the barrel is steel, they look closer.

The 26.5 flare size has only ever had flares made for it, never high-enery projectiles or grenades.  You >could< make grenades with it, but not easily.  Same rules apply to rare-cartridge sizes above 0.50 caliber.  If the ammo is common-ish, then it's a DD, but if it's something you cooked up in your basement and that's the only source for the ammo, then it's not a DD.

For smoothbores, if it's above 0.50" then the question is what ammo is available.

That's why you see rifled slug guns in 12ga but nothing bigger.

a 40mm M203 is a DD because there is plenty of 40 mm shells which are grenade type.  You can reload the shells.  Flares are available, but so are grenades.

Contemplating a 22lr AR15.  Anyone have any preferences- I was looking at the Sig and the HK?  Anything else I should look at?

Last summer I was hanging out with some Class III buddies at a shoot and one had a Mac-11 .380acp and oh my God was the rate of fire off the chart!! I think it's rated at around 1,250 rpm but damn, it seemed faster than that! :o And at the cost of .380acp ammo I bet it's not getting a lot of playing time! Still, major fun to shoot. Glad I got to borrow it and not own it. [thumbsup]

My brother owns a Class III .45acp Thompson. You're right, it does rock! [thumbsup] [popcorn] [bacon]
I plan to list the Federal Gov't. as a dependent on my next 1040 tax filing!

I have flying honey badgers and I'm not afraid to use them!

The fact that flame throwers exist is proof that someone somewhere said "I'd sure like to set those people over there on fire but I'm just not close enough to get the job done."

CONFIDENCE: the feeling you have right before you understand the situation.

As far as 22LR AR-15's, - I have a CMMG conversion kit that I really like(when its in my possession as my brother usually ends up with it).  Its very reliable and very accurate with certain types of ammo.  Accuracy varies from 12" @ 50 yards to less than a half inch at that range depending on the ammo.  My rig shows an extreme preference for Wolf Match Target.  It jams occasionally with the Wolf as it is a subsonic match round but it is by far the most accurate in my rig.  I've swapped the kit into other AR's and the ammo preferences change drastically.  My brothers AR shoots CCI MiniMag  real well.  If you get a rimfire AR, (or any 22 for that matter) collect up a wide variety of ammo and spend a few hours at the range, benching it to see what it likes.  The difference the right ammo makes can be dramatic.

One thing with testing a variety of rimfire ammo, when you switch from one brand to another, make sure to shoot 5-10 rounds of it before getting serious about grouping with it as it will take a few shots for the bore condition to adjust to the different lube/powder fouling characteristics of each individual ammo.  The difference getting to a consistent bore condition makes is very noticeable in an accurate rifle.

Typically with the AR 22's, you will find a high reliability ammo with adequate accuracy for blasting and probably a subsonic round that will be more accurate, but may jam a bit.
This isn't a dress rehearsal for life - this is it!
