It looks so awesome and easy on TV or the movies!!!   I wish I had a way of putting the video of my wife running 8 bowling pins off the table with 8 shots at the Second Chance Combat shoot in 4.5 seconds with full power 12 ga 00 Buck.

That Probably got her to the wagon?  The best i ever did was 3.2 but that was with the half second deduct for using  a pump model 12.  4.5 for a girl is something to be proud of as they are hard to hang on to.  I bet she was using a remington 1100?

I will have to see if I have a photo of the wagon piled high with guns so you could take your pick of whatever you wanted. That shoot should still be going, can you imagine how big it would be today.  If Richard would have left the fireworks alone, (lawsuit) it would be.

"But sire what are we to do.  You have taken all our weapons and now the heathen hordes are at the gate.  Are we to lie down and give them our lives.  Without weapons they will make us eat ourselves."

She had 3 1100 actions - when one would start getting sluggish, I'd rip off the barrel and slap it on the next action, fix or clean the dirty one and keep rotating.  She was in high demand for 3-person teams and we went through 1000 rounds + of 00 buck that week and about 2 cases of slugs on the BCBC event on the back range.  I don't  remember what my fastest pump gun time was - it got me to the prize wagon at least once.  3.7 maybe.  Way too much fun.  Mas refers to it as Woodstock for shooters and I can't disagree.

By "mas" do you mean Massad Ayoob? [popcorn]

Scatterguns rock by the way. ;D
I plan to list the Federal Gov't. as a dependent on my next 1040 tax filing!

I have flying honey badgers and I'm not afraid to use them!

The fact that flame throwers exist is proof that someone somewhere said "I'd sure like to set those people over there on fire but I'm just not close enough to get the job done."

CONFIDENCE: the feeling you have right before you understand the situation.

We shot with Massad Ayoob and his daughter, Kat - We also have been through Mas's LFI-1 class and went through the classroom refresher last year.  Well worth the time and money if you decide to take responsibility for your own defense.

2nd Chance was a spectacle!  500 of the best practical shooters in the world, blasting for 8 days.  Prize table was about 350 guns and other interesting things, Man on Man on Man shootoffs with $40K cash prizes, the door prize was a used Mercedes......Pistols, shotguns, rifles, class 3, huge meals included - just an utterly amazing time.  The range was on Richard Davis's private place and there were two rules.  Richard Davis makes the rules and rule 2 was to refer to rule 1.  And the 3rd unwritten rule - no whining!    We shot the match for 8 or 9 years.   BoDiddley also shot there and worked with Mas at his classes in Michigan.

The match was ran amazingly well - everyone there felt like they were visiting princes.  Awesome Awesome time.

I figured how to digit my 8mm, downloaded a free edit software and here is Second Chance.  Ten days if I recall, pure shooting heaven. Disappointed I did not get a shot of the wagon loaded with guns.  Whatever event you won you just went up and picked out whatever weapon you wanted. Cooked many whole beefs and all the food was free.

Bowling Pin Shoot Second Chance

I forgot to mention it shows only half of the back field events, rifle, the the Oswald event and many more.  The oswald event was set up exactly the same dimension, distance, same rifle, same moving target, same everything precisely .  Not one of all the world class shooters ever got close to what oswald shot.

And this is Richard shooting himself.

I had the time and shot splits on the Oswald shoot with a miss using a 30-40 Krag.  Couldn't even come close with a Carcano.  I think the Carcano is just too rough of an operating gun to be smooth and fast with.  I have 3 of them and shoot them quite a bit so it isn't a lack of familiarity.

Great video montage.  The first scene of Mas shooting, my wife's head is the one in the foreground.  Wow that was fun!

That looks like a hell of a good time!

Looking for a camo finish.  My first AR is an old Olympic arms heavy barrel and the only reason I still have it is the barrel and trigger are excellent for accuracy,  the most Accurate AR-15 I have come across.  But it is ugly as hell and beat up, with a long slotted round aluminum forearm and I always wanted to put a total Camo finish on it.  Anyone had a job done, not just an AR but any gun.  I have used Robar before but their camo is butt ugly.

There's a guy on another forum I go to that does a lot of refinishing.

That looks interesting but not a lot of Camo, actually I was wondering about how hydrographics hold up. Not sure about the clear coat final finish they use.  I heard you have to worry about oils and bug spray which is not good.  A lot of pro and cons to read about but no hands on it info.

I am thinking about these guys as they use Cerakote along with the finish, Anyone?

Lauer Duracoat is the shizzle for this.

"Yelling out of cars, turning your speakers out the window to blast your music onto the street, setting off M-80 firecrackers, firing automatic weapons into the airâ€"these are all well and good. But none of them create a merry atmosphere of insouciance and bonhomie quite like a revving motorcycle.

Quality automotive 2k urethane is pretty much resistant to everything, except brake fluid and paint stripper, once cured.

Duracoat is resistant to brake fluid and most strippers..  It's not made to come off so you have to choose your colors carefully.

It can be removed with a few of the more aggressive strippers or bead blasted off.  Acetone and brake cleaner just "scuff" the surface, in case you want to apply another coat.

I've used it on 2v heads and it simply will not come off without blasting it and even that takes a lot.
