And the sugar fountain fairy swore so hard when she came to super-size that stale hope soybean; liiiike a homeless German woman. Who is this super-sizing spirit-crushing femme? And tell her I'll break a tree root up in her shrimp.

Being faster than you thought possible…it feels good. No, screw thatâ€"it feels like shotgunning a gallon of adrenaline and chasing it with an all-night orgy aboard a burning Viking boat.

It should be easy enough to make an ambi version just for the lower, unless you're talking about more than the release and selector.

Who was it making LH uppers?  ANyone have one of those?

"Yelling out of cars, turning your speakers out the window to blast your music onto the street, setting off M-80 firecrackers, firing automatic weapons into the airâ€"these are all well and good. But none of them create a merry atmosphere of insouciance and bonhomie quite like a revving motorcycle.

There are several out there, but he was talking about a LaRue
Woohoohoohoo! Two personal records! For breath holding and number of sharks shot in the face.

Not all that concerned about the upper, as I got used to the brass in front of my face long ago; I just like ambi controls. My SR lower is full ambi, which is nice, but the jury is still out on the integrated swivel mounts. I'd like to slap a Noveske barrel on the thing, but the E3 bolt rules that out. Guess it's time for a new BCG as well.   [roll]

I find it disturbing that you're imagining me in a sauna, never mind the teletubbie aspect of it

No poop. That picture was taken after a 200+ mile ride NW of Napa a few days before the Laguna Moto GP Race.  I was beat down.

After spending a bit of time researching and trying out some semi auto pistols I have narrowed the search down to 2.  I have been going back and forth between the Springfield XD 9mm (4 inch) and the Ruger sr9.  I fired both guns back to back yesterday and am leaning towards the XD.  The pistol will be used for HD and possibly CCW down the line.  I did not shoot the compact version of either one..because i'm a newb  to handguns and felt that  full size pistol would be better to start with.  Any of you experts/enthusiast  have any experience with either?  The only reason why I haven't completely ruled out the Ruger is the 1911 style thumb safety.  I have 2 young kids in the house,  and while i would never leave a handgun in any state that they could even breath on it, the extra safety makes me feel a little better.  The other side to this argument is the extra step of the safety in a high stress situation.  What say you, gun yodas of the DMF?

I look at it this way.

Pretend the gun is a vat of acid and you have kids around.  Safety?  My ass.

I don't care what the gun has on it, I don't want my kid to have access to it.  If it is out, then its on my body.  If it is put away, then it's in a fingerprint-access save bolted to the wall next to my bed.

Do not let the false security of a gun safety make you feel one iota safer with your kids.

My son (4) was fiddling with the safe.  It's a slim box on the wall in our bedroom.  He was trying to open it and Mrs Ducatiz asked him what he wanted and he said "i want to shoot daddy's gun"..  I made a sweep of the house to make sure everything was secure again and that both of the home defense devices were inaccessible.  I have a shotgun I need to secure too and that will be difficult to keep it quickly accessible.

If you have young kids, I recommend a fingerprint safe.  Takes about 2 seconds to open.  Mall mount it so the finger sensor is up top and it flops open.. very fast

a biometric safe will be purchased along side the pistol.  I suppose  that a safety is pointless if a gun is properly stored and handled, which it will be.

yes, it's pointless.  it's a good discussion though, because it's called a "safety" so we're inclined to think it's safer.

unsupervised kids and guns are just bad news.
