The Bersa is the standard blued thunder .380. It is a great shooter at any price.

Well, we went and bought the p238.  Love it!  It is an unbelievably good little shooter. From 25 feet both of us shot it just as well as my Glock and the Bersa. Very low recoil, very good sights, comfortable grip. We got the gun with night sights, sig branded laser, standard and extended mags, and the cheesy sig holster new in box for $499.  In addition they had some sellier and belloit .380 for $11 a box. Total spend after tax for the gun and 200rnds was $580.

Took it home and gave it a thorough cleaning and lube, then ran 100rnds through it with zero issues. My wife is very happy with it and I am pretty confident I'll be picking up the P938 as soon as they become available and have had enough time to work out their bugs.

I defied the laws of physics and actually shot a 5 round 1 inch group out of this @100 yards on Saturday

Far more credit to the operator than the equipment!  The biggest cause of rifle inaccuracy is usually that the nut behind the buttplate is loose.
This isn't a dress rehearsal for life - this is it!

South African or Rhodie?

I have two Rhodie kits that look like hell but are in good shape.  Original barrel?  I think the SA kits used Belgian barrels = best.

I have a few of those and everything to build them.

"Yelling out of cars, turning your speakers out the window to blast your music onto the street, setting off M-80 firecrackers, firing automatic weapons into the airâ€"these are all well and good. But none of them create a merry atmosphere of insouciance and bonhomie quite like a revving motorcycle.

It has an as-new Pretoria proofed barrel,

the rest is South African that probably was from the Rhodie bush wars...

though the lower still has the SA serial number and wasn't sanitized

I was using my home-rolled 150 grain SMK match rounds

let me know if you want to part with a Rhodie kit...

I have a nice M14 TRW contract parts set...has every pin and spring.. :)

If you want one of the Rhodie kits, I can let it go.  (note:  no lower.  i only have 2 Imbel lowers left and both are spoken for...)

I have a USGI M14 kit too -- all the pieces still in wrap.  Citadel barrel.. I will buy an LRB lugged receiver one day and build it up..  Did you get yours from a guy named Mark Cefaly?

Are you offering a trade of the M14 kit for the Rhodie kit?   ;D

1MOA with iron sights from that rifle is impressive.
Woohoohoohoo! Two personal records! For breath holding and number of sharks shot in the face.

I call it impossible...I seriously do NOT know how it happened...

FALs never do those sorts of things...2-4 plus inches are the std. no matter how good a shot you are

but sometimes freak-of-nature events happen

like a Hole In One in golfing..

this thing had been sitting in my closet for at least 5 years since I assembled it and tested it

and I dragged it out for a change of pace from the M14's

I have to disagree a little.  With a high end barrel, even a light barrel, and the right headspacing, 1 moa is possible with a FAL

the receiver is actually very sturdy and stiff.  Unlike the AR, the bolt locks directly onto the barrel, which is a superior design and the heavy carrier and tilting bolt provide a lot of recoil buffering -- esp with the basic design and that long-ass recoil tube.

I have a HB setup and with good ammo can regularly get 1" groups.  i headspaced it myself and it's about as tight as it can go within range.

A match barreled and tuned one yes I would agree....

that said, my experience with average rack-grade versions was usually disappointing

even after much experimentation with various match hand loads...which is the game I like to play, getting a pig to sing like the fat lady

choke the accuracy out of an average weapon with the right round, oal, shoulder set, bullet seating depth, powder type & charge and bullet head

one thing I did do with this rifle was build and headspace it myself @ 1.632

and I took a pair of small vice grips to the rear sight to tighten it on the rail and eliminate the slop

I plan to keep playing with it now that it hit a few high notes  [laugh]

with good barrel and correct headspace and predictable ammo, you can do a lot with fals.

Need a little more info there, bud.  What kind of shooting you plan on doing, budget, etc.
