The 75 was an adaptation of the Hi-Power.

Since then the CZ 75 has probably been the most cloned pistol.

They come in all flavors...alloy/polymer/all steel

Compact/fullsize 9mm and 40S&W

They even have a 45acp

I have an 85 which is an ambi version.

The only downside is they can be particular about hollow point ammo as they were designed for round nose.

My wife has had a CZ 75 for years.  She went through LFI-1 with it and did well.  Very reliable, ergonomic and reasonably priced.
This isn't a dress rehearsal for life - this is it!

I'd have to say I disagree with that.  With the exception of the linkless Browning cam, and the safety, that's really about it.  Maybe you could say the box mag design is similar, but the angle of feed is different as are the followers and everyone and their mother uses the linkless Browning system unless it's a blowback pistol.  Slide lock systems are different too -- I always was ambivalent about that long-ass slide lock on the HP.

The original HiPower was a single action gun, it had a full length recoil system, 13 rounds (CZ has 15), traditional internal slide rails.

The CZ was designed from the ground up to be a double action, has a short recoil system, 15 rounds and innovative external slide rails. 

The grips are similar (ergos and look) but that's more a function of the European style than anything else.  European guns have always had a similar grip feel, compare them to the 1911, which many people here prefer.

That's exactly what I'd consider that an adaptation.

I suppose it's semantics.

I don't feel that CZ cloned the Hi-Power.
