Thanks, I went for a long mountainbike ride this morning and was kind of tired when I started this project and when I moved the bike to an area of my garage where I had enough room on both sides I put the side stand down and started to lean it over when it got to the point of "oh crap, there's something wrong" so I just tried to lay it down as gently as possible.  I haven't done something like this in years... total n00b bonehead mistake and I bent the shift lever but the frame sliders prevented any other damage.  So, a job that was originally just to install belt covers turned into a removal and straightening of the shift lever.

It's all back together though and working fine.  Off to the Chargers game tomorrow with my son so no riding for me the rest of the weekend.  

I really need to cut the heel guard mount off the exhaust.  I lost one of the bolts and all the hardware that goes with it and it is kind of an ugly piece anyway.  I'll deal with the boot melting issues.  The guard has been missing for 6 months now and it hasn't been an issue to I'm just going to cut the rest of it off.

I know it's Kirk Douglas in your profile pic but that isn't Snake Plisken is it? Must be some sequel I'm not familiar with, he isn't supposed to be so "pretty".

It is Captain Ron (Kurt Russell).  It is a very silly and occasionally funny comedy.  His character is so ridiculous that I can't help but like him.
