What did you just buy for your Ducati?

Picked up a few parts for a Monster build.

Roadracing tank that I had "depolished"; it had a mirror /high gloss finish that I despised. My metal guy put a #4 finish (brushed) on it. It'll need new clear coat or clear anodizing. 







DPM side covers, I had these anodized black:



Had a local guy customize a stock seat. Inspired by the "chicken shack" 900 build. They normally do car interiors, furniture, party buses etc so I think they knocked this outta the park considering its not their forte.



Rear suspension is a basic 2 way Penske, more than sufficient for the street.



Tip: don't go for the cheapest powder coater. Had these guys redo my frame twice and it still isn't up to par.. Lots of orange peel. Great people, they just either lack the skill or the facilities to do a proper job. But as stated the bike will be a rider so I can live with it.



Triple clamps are AEM, hard anodized:



More to come. Still need clip ons, brakes, hoses, wheels,  etc. Motor will be a carb 900 with V heads and a fresh rebuild.

They're not as sleek as the Mgadgets, but those are just two small to for me.  Then again, since I'm already running Berringer MCs, it does let me eliminate another bit cluttering up the bars, so it's a wash in the end, I think.

T, that may just be the finest looking Triclore I've ever seen. The billet braking components are hot as hell and a great functional component for such a brutishly powered bike and those wire wheels look like what Ducati should've used from the jump, like the ones on the Brutale Dragster. Just perfect.


I just purchased the services of a talented fabricator (Randy @ Strada) and added trellis bracing to my OEM M900s swingarm along with a custom made shorty hugger/shock protector/mudguard/whatever you wish to call it. Also picked up a unique LED headlight unit made my Eagle Lites as well as an adapter ring from Motodemic.

G'day Hershell
Love the look of gloss over matt paint and I've had my C/F tank painted that way.
Problem is, there is a prominent lip where the gloss (blood red candy) meets the clear matt on the carbon tank.
Yours looks WAY better and doesn't look to have the 'edge' like mine.  Do you have an 'edge' ? and if not, do you know how it was done?

Good day, mansta there is a small lip but it isn't to bad. I don't know how it was done Carbonvani did the painting. My best guess it the thickness of the masking tape used would have a lot to do with it. Some 1500 or 2k grit sandpaper with some light sanding and buffing should get rid if the line.  I would try  a spot on the bottom of the tank as a test. Good luck with it.

I purchased the services of a professional metal polisher to restore my swingarm to "better than new" condition. I wanted the grain to match that of my tank. I wish I had more "before" photos, but the swingarm was thrashed; gouges, dents, scratches, the 2 rose joint mounts and built in spools were gnarled and chewed up, the quality of some if the welds were fairly meh, the bracing didn't quite match the rest of the arm.... It definitely looked like a 25 year old part. Speaking of those spools - I had them drilled and tapped so I could use STM ones.

I understand whatever remained of the factory anodizing (actually, did Cagiva/Ducati anodize these things to begin with??) is now gone. I'm mulling over 3 options: 1: use the same 2k Eastwood matte clear I'm spraying my tank with. 2: have it powder coated with a clear powder. 3: have it professionally re-anodized. Anyone here have an opinion / words of wisdom?
