Yeah, we know you're not just letting those painted parts sit around the garage :)

I've been a bit busy this weekend. It was either work on the bike or got to PIR for European Bike Day. It was a tough choice, but the itch to wrench won't be denied.

I put on the fender, headlight, turn signals, exhaust, glued the side panels and glued taillight to the seat pan. I also did the wiring mods and changed the jetting on the carb.

Its about 95% done, now for that last fiddly 5%. :P

A couple of the things left to do: compression release lever, and sort out some kickstand issues.

Now for the pics:

Look, its a carb! (With K&N filter)

It looks really good, but with you sitting on it it looks half scale :)  Carb?  Do they still make those? ;)

Scott

So nearing the end, are you glad you got the lift to do the work on?

Scott

This stand works good... and when lowered you can drive a car over the center. (4 inches high.) Also, had a coupon for it...

Yeah, it makes things alot easier to work on. RYan's stand is the shiznit though. [thumbsup]

It LIVES!
;D

Well, at least it cranks.
;)

I hooked up the battery, no sparks or smoke. [thumbsup]

The headlight, tail light and brake lights work  :), but the turn signals don't :P.

The starter cranks, but I haven't hooked up the fuel tank to the carb yet. I want to make sure the fuel petcock doesn't leak before it hook it up.

I can't wait until Marquez gets on his level and makes Jorge trip on his tampon string.

If Billy can't get that shit welded up for you I'm heading over to my folks this weekend and could get it done with my dad's MIG.

Or any neighborhood muffler shop for a few dollars.  Usually nice guys there.

I got the compression release lever installed, fixed the turn signal issues, & installed the kick stand.  [thumbsup]

Unfortunately the fuel tank leaks at the fuel petcock. :P  I'll go ask the experts at http://www.suzukisavage.com.

I just found out that the vacuum operated petcock on the S40 is a piece of crap and should be replaced by one from a Yamaha Raptor. :-\

I got one on order from eBay. [thumbsup]
