Maybe this will push GM into un-shelving the 4.5L Duramax they had designed and tested for 1/2-tons and Suburbans.

Once my wife and I have enough kids they don't all fit in the Subaru, I will be wanting a Duraburb... whether I can buy it or have to build it.

Not being all that familiar with the various domestic diesel engine producers, I was wondering if anyone is using International diesel engines since they seem to be very reliable in commercial applications.

Ford has been using combine/school bus engines since they first introduced their first diesel.

Ford did until 2010.

They've since moved back in house.

Yup . . .

Even the small Rangers we got here in Panama with the 2.5/3.8/3.0l engines, all were PowerStrokes . . . had to take the engine out of the vehicle to replace the injectors . ..  almost non rebuidable, the ones for the above mentioned engines

"Industry's only light duty diesel".

ROFL. The rest of the world has had small diesels for decades.

As a Ford fan, I always wondered why they continued the Chrysler/Cummins deal.   Huh?
