Every bike with a breather connected to the airbox has that...no?
To an extent, yes. This is just amplified a lot...

I understand the amplification of the exhaust suction.
I was curious as to what the Panigale uses over and above the typical PCV system that Ducati has been using...forever.

Not to jack Stu's thread...
ahh...a smog pump.
That's probably to reduce emissions while still running a map that will make power.

Ah yes... it turns out the Panigale has a PAIR system. Not for better engine performance, but for better emissions performance. Apparently Ducati was finally required to catch up to the rest of the performance bike world by the inexorable march of the green people.

Got the tank installed, but it's too dang big...
Fortunately for me, it's Ducati's last steel tank used on a superbike so I can cut & weld it as needed. Here's the projected first cut (just above the blue tape):
From there, a new bottom plate will need to be water-jet cut and welded in. Going to run a later model Ducati in-tank pump as they're cheaper than the 749/999 units & flow more fuel.

High velocity exhaust creates a vacuum which sucks out the aerated oil from the crankcase. That negative pressure allows the pistons to move around more freely.
Can't run that on a street bike as you're sucking aerated oil into the atmosphere. Road racing won't allow it either. Legal @ drag racing & Bonneville.
Totally not worth it in a street bike as I suspect it's only worth 0.5-1 HP at a maximum.
(if that much.)
Does this actually do anything? Id buy it if it were on a single but on a 90° twin when one piston travels down the other moves up and there's a balance of air pressure.
No?

If it were a boxer twin, then you'd be right. Because it's a 90' twin, there is some overlap where they're both coming down.
Honestly, I doubt it'll do much. But, ram air @ 190mph going into the air box will be creating positive pressure so this is my fix...

Actually it would work better on the BMW boxer. They are 180 degree cranks. If I ever get another one, I'm going to re-phase one of the cams to make a big bang engine.

From looking at the side view of you on the bike, I'd say you'll need to channel/section that dude about 3".

Is there a reg on tank size? Couldn't you fit a smaller tank just for enough fuel?
