I've found scavenging VERY important, but the RR exhaust has it.
But cant say how good it is.

I had that exhaust on my bike for a while and found that it didn't have much clearence.. I could grind it down in a school zone!   Grin

Can someone please explain an Norwegian dude what scavenging is?

The effect of the exhaust pulse helping the intake process during the period of valve opening overlap.

On multiple cylinder engines it can also refer to one cylinder affecting another in a similar fashion based on exhaust design.

yeah, as an extra to Dirty Duc..
Its when the gas flowing from one cylinders exhaust helps suck a fresh charge of air/fuel into another cylinder when its inlet and exhaust valve's are open briefly at the same time...

Between the fiberglass wrap and the large-holed perf tube people mention above (2nd pic you posted w/the Kerker can), you'll need to wrap the perf tube with a very fine stainless steel mesh.  Otherwise (ask me how I know this), the fiberglass mesh will vacate itself from the muffler in just north of no time at all.

Don't ask me where to find it as I didn't get a chance to re-pack the mufflers on a custom I had built.  The customer just opted for someone else to build another set of pipes.

Thanks for the heads up Stu!

Something like, one of these options?

Yes.  I'm unsure of which mesh to suggest, but I know I didn't use anything and fiberglass 'bits' were EVERYWHERE...  Until all the fiberglass packing was gone.  Undecided

Always thought it was more like http://steelwooldirect.com/muffler-packing/ than a mesh.

That's what the RR had off the bat, and thanks for that link because now that's what I'll use to repack it. The primary exception I (and others) have with the exhaust is the way it routes the gases out with it's suffocating multi chambered design, not what it's packed with. And I actually really like the tone, even tho I seem to be in the minority there. I honestly wouldn't mind if it stayed the same, a little quieter, or even a little louder.
