Hey, if they didn't sell for as much as you wanted you should have put a reserve on them

"Yelling out of cars, turning your speakers out the window to blast your music onto the street, setting off M-80 firecrackers, firing automatic weapons into the airâ€"these are all well and good. But none of them create a merry atmosphere of insouciance and bonhomie quite like a revving motorcycle.

The sellers fees used to be reasonable too...  Not so much anymore.  I have had a lot of $20 items which end up in the recycling bin as the pain w/listing/shipping/eBay fees/etc... just didn't justify selling it on there anymore.

I'm happy to be off it really...

I think it depends where you are located to as for me it opens up the world for stuff you just can't get here and at prices that can't be beat! Patience and limited alcohol can still get you bargains! I don't sell much though! Postage is the killer with most auctions.

The fact they settle so hard with the buyers has stopped me from Selling. I sold an iPad in great working order and had a buyer leave me positive feedback say it was perfect. A week later she is messaging me 5 times a day asking of refund and saying its a POS. I was trying to work with her, eBay was too but the second she filed a claim with her credit card company everything stopped. They instantly took her side and I was out the money. I almost didn't get the iPad back either. Now I have a nice 4th gen paperweight still loaded with her stuff on it.

I always had a separate account just for PayPal and the second I was paid for something I transfered the money out leaving a $0.00 balance.

I never had an issue with PayPal but I never trusted them either.

Sorry about your IPAD.  I once got done for 6.5k in paragliding gear and lessons.  Guy from Brazil came out took 1.5k in lessons bought 5k in gear and went back to Brazil and charged it off.  Having only an internet processing portal and no way to scan a card I lost the 6.5k.  Over no signature, despite not being provided a way to get one.

Ebay and Paypal are the best ways for a consumer to purchase goods with credit cards a close second.Since all transactions are now swiped and I do not sell products online at all except gift certificates for flights.  At least now if you rip me off I can push you out of the basket....

Pisses me off that I pay 2% of my business to credit card companies and they in turn side with the consumer immediately and freeze or pull funds at the first hint of a complaint from them.

That won't help you. They will just chargeback to the account and you'll end up with an overdraft from the bank.  The bank is required to honor the ACH draft, and so they will charge you the overdraft fee.  If you don't pay, they'll put it into collections.

The payments issue is a big deal, but here is what I'm talking about

My search term is: + (ducati, ducait, cagiva) + (alazzurra, alazurra, allazurra, panta, pantha) -(ttx, iridium, PDF, battery, barrerie, pads, sale, not, model, honda, suzuki, brochure, "fork seals", "on CD", cdrom, "1 12", "1 24", "M", prospekt, "Das Motorrad", yamaha, kawasaki, fiche, filter, sticker, signal, echten, dust, spark, ngk, paddock, rain, LED, goodr)

I.e. "force include ducati/cagiva, force include alazzurra and misspellings, exclude a huge list of crap and other brands"

This is the first to pop in the search:  Notice he's listed for EACH YEAR and engine size.  Never mind that NO ONE ANYWHERE USES THIS SHIT.

Ebay doesn't care, he has to pay the listing fee.

At least let me block his auctions permanently?

Maybe if you offer to pay them they'll give you that option. [evil]

I cause them to be paid by buying stuff on their site -- since this stuff turns me off, I've cut back because it's a hassle.

Right...

but if they give you the option of blocking a seller how do they charge the seller the same money?

It all just about the money.

Wait...

you're a lawyer. ;D
