Morning guys. Hi Dave! No big weekend plans here. Should be sunny and warm, so maybe some time at the park, and grilling outside.

Woke up remembering a Mothers day event from about 1976. I was in foster care and Sunday school made us all make Mothers day gifts. I remember getting in trouble for pitching a fit - I told the Sunday school teacher that "that woman is not my Mother, I don't like her, and I am not making her a gift"! All the other kids looked on in shock.

Weird memory to wake up to.

I see your point.

Shame the SS teacher wasn't prepared for the hurt and sadness of the little girl.

Just last week, our school had our MD stall. One by one, each class went to look at things they might like to purchase. I was getting my class ready to go, and one student started to get agitated.

I said 'come on mate' before remembering that he's been estranged from his mum for many years and it's quite a deep issue for him.

I asked him if he'd like to continue his quiet reading with another class and wait until we return. He was as happy as Larry!

Dreams are pretty powerful.

Btw Ung, congrats to the Saints on their gutsy win. They were galant last week against the Bombers too. Very unfortunate to go down by two points in that one!

My team. 3-3!

Newest team in the league claimed the scalp of the reigning premiers! Boy oh boy! We've got some work to do!

Still house sitting. Go home on Monday night after I pick up my friends from the airport. They sent email telling me to get steak for the dog and some for me. The actually cook steak for their dog and mix it in with her dry food.   :o

She eats her kibble just fine when I am here. Oh well, grilling tonight!  [beer]

Reading Harm's Way by James Bassett. Thinly fictionalized story of his account during WWII in Hawaii and the Pacific.  Very good, came out in 1962, and reminds me that everything old is new again.

Thanks GK, yeah despite the lowly position on the ladder.... I think most Saints supporters are encouraged.   I wouldn't worry too much about your Hawks, they'll be up amongst it at the top end for sure.

My town has about 2200 residents.
woohoo... the BIG smoke. eh?   Only around 1500 in our local town.   Close enough to the big metropolis when city life has something to offer..... far enough away all the rest of the time  8)

Cold and very wet day here.

Shorty Junior played men's soccer (he's the only one in the team under 18), they won 1-0.

He came home looking like a drowned rat.  A happy one.

After Mother's Day morning treats, Mrs Ung took off to the Big Smoke to catch up with the eldest.

Who presented her with the exact same Mother's Day card as Shorty Junior had also given her.  Co-incidence?

I think so  [laugh]
