True, if you were at redline, the engine can't rev up anymore, and a slipper is probably the best bet.

But, like the link Spidey added, some ECU's can reduce engine braking by allowing "leaks" into the cylinder chamber, which could also work, and which we will probably see more of incorporated into TC/ECU's for the street.

I could see a bypass valve on the cylinder working. Basically, you open that up and are running the bike with very little compression. Seems like a very complicated solution to the problem though with the necessary addition of a solenoid actuated valve. So many more parts to break and if it got stuck open, jeesh, no fun.

I don't have nearly enough of an understanding of valving on engine, but does anyone make a motor with solenoid actuated valves?

Flyn - The bigger rear tire doesnt always equate to slower turn in. If it DOES effect turn in, you have some chassis issues to sort out. This really only applies when the chassis is well sorted. The stock SF is very conservative stock. This one is a bit closer now.

The IACS that you are talking about is not a function of TC and runs on top of the Management system. Most all the teams in GP and WSB have quit using the "auto-blip" althought some riders do use and prefer it. The IACS (Idle Air Control System) does NOT add fuel, as this would make power, and provide the exact opposite of the goal of the system, to completely eliminate engine braking. The AICS adds a it of air, either by injecting it, or by SLIGHTLY opening the throttle bodies for a second. This is designed to aid the wheel/engine back torque matching issues that can occur when using carbon/carbon brakes. This really isnt an issue with Steel brakes, as they cant provide enough power to cause these issues.

ALL that being said, there really isnt a top rider in the world that bangs downshifts at redline... If you watch the races, they do a LOT of braking before they get near the downshifts, and the downshifts come in very quick bunches.
