Wow. That's a great collection of ammo and the guns that shoot them. Only thing that would make that day better is shooting all that hardware while you were riding your bike!! [laugh] Hurt? Yeah but it's a good hurt. [thumbsup] [beer] Take two Advil and repeat the day. ;)
I plan to list the Federal Gov't. as a dependent on my next 1040 tax filing!

I have flying honey badgers and I'm not afraid to use them!

The fact that flame throwers exist is proof that someone somewhere said "I'd sure like to set those people over there on fire but I'm just not close enough to get the job done."

CONFIDENCE: the feeling you have right before you understand the situation.

Just received this, since I was a Tanfoglio owner,

"SINCE 1999 ERIC GRAUFFEL WITH TANFOGLIO GOLD CUSTOM MODEL IS I.P.S.C. OPEN CLASS WORLD CHAMPION. DURING XVI I.P.S.C. WORLD SHOOTING CHAMPIONSHIP, IN RHODES, GREECE, ON OCTOBER THE 9TH, ERIC HAS BEEN PROCLAIMED  WORLD CHAMPION FOR 5 FIVE TIME IN A ROW: A GREAT AND UNIQUE RECORD! WE ARE PROUD OF THIS PRESTIGIOUS RESULT, WHICH CONFIRMS THE QUALITY OF OUR PRODUCTS! WE THANK TO ERIC FOR HIS GREAT COMMITMENT, THE TALENT AND HIS GREAT COOPERATION."

5 years in a row, that is quite an accomplishment I'd say ...

I was Class C Production Champion in 2008, with a Tanfoglio Force 99R, .40S&W ... the only one competing with a .40 ... my yearly avg was 60.754pts per round if I had had 61 or more would have been a Cat B and no trophy !!

As an asshole said it, "you're the best of the worst" ... But I beat the spi guys, equivalent of secret service here ... by a good margin ...[yes the folks who protect our inept president]

Figured it's 10/22 today, so I went out and got me a standard 10/22 in wood.

Haven't really been a fan of wood, but the hell...I'll give it a shot.

Ordered a Hogue Overmold stock because I didn't like the standard synthetic stock's feel (also because I'm too lazy to tap the wood for a sling), and also got Sight-Tech sights for it.

Got till mid December to get it all ready for Appleseed.

10/22s rock the planet!! I've got a couple of standards in wood (one with scope, one without) and they didn't need anything for a sling. They were good to go. ??? Also have a heavy barrel stainless 10/22 in a Hogue stock with a Leupold rimfire scope. Love that rifle. One of my all time favs for plinking. If I had every single gun taken away from me and I was left with just one it might be that stainless 10/22. It's not the best for hunting or self defense but it does everything well. [thumbsup]

No swivels on the one I got.  Some of the more expensive ones had 'em, but some didn't have iron sights, some had the bull barrel, some were stainless, etc. etc.. I'm ok with the bull barrel and SS, but just don't want to pay for it for this project.

I'm just trying to make this a good, cheap to fire training rifle. 7.62x51 is too expensive for what I want to do.

Did somebody say 10/22?   I got a "free" one a few years ago.  Friend of mine was cleaning out apartments for his landlord and somebody left one behind.  I already had a Savage MkII BTVS with Brunton scope, but my buddy knew I was thinking of getting a 10/22 to customize so he said have at it!  Serial number ID showed it as having been made in 1977 and it was in good shape other than really dirty inside.  Stripped it, cleaned it, then spent $300 on a barrel, trigger/hammer set, Hogue stock and a cheap Tasco 24X zoom scope.  It was as accurate as the Savage (with me doing the shooting) and more fun to shoot (perfect for 22 caliber golf!), so I swapped scopes and sold the BTVS.  Encouraged by the crazy amount of options for 10/22s (like Harleys, you can build one without using any OEM parts!), I designed my own billet aluminum stock...lost interest in it but the 3D files and drawings are machine-program ready.
