Will do!  If the weather is nice enough (outdoor range) I plan to go shoot it a bit on Monday.

Well, I went and shot about 100 rounds through the SR9 yesterday afternoon.  Being pretty novice with guns, I'm not sure how helpful my review will be, but here's my thoughts.  First 100 rounds of Winchester FMJ and not a single jam.  It didn't feel top heavy at all while shooting.  It was a terribly windy day and I had a little trouble even standing steady in the wind, but it seemed to shoot very accurately.  One thing that threw me off a bit was the trigger pull.  It seemed a bit heavy/long.  I'm just comparing it to my Bersa 380, which seems very light.  I think I can get used to the SR9 trigger, but it was different than I was expecting.  It was a lot of fun to shoot and I went through 100 rounds very quickly!  The sights seemed easy to use and the gun just felt really nice in my hands.  No discomfort at all while shooting it.

I shot a Ruger a few weeks ago. The trigger pull was really light. My buddy said that he had not done any trigger work on it.

Taurus makes some fine handguns, that's for sure. As for whether or not that price is a good deal: look around on gunbroaker and see what you find in comparison. You might want to look through the equip exchange portion of AR15.com, as you can sometimes find good deals there as well.

One thing to keep in mind though, as far as CC goes, is that you might actually find it easier to keep a slim 9mm concealed than a wheel gun. Not saying anything bad about revolvers, but they can be more likely to print, depending on your carry rig.

Like he said! [thumbsup] Taurus does make some very nice firearms. I remember a few decades ago folks wouldn't say that but they sure say it now. I might get whooped up on for mentioning this but I think they compare nicely to Smith & Wessons. And I'm a huge Smith revolver fan. Not familiar with that specific Taurus wheelgun but it sounds like a K frame (maybe an L frame) Smith size wise being a 7 shot .357. And a K is a lot easier to conceal than an L frame... by a little bit. Do some on line digging for prices. But I have to agree a slim 9mm would be easier to conceal than a full size revolver.

Let us know what you decide! ;D

Sounds like a winner! [thumbsup] Those "Glock style" DOA triggers can be an acquired taste. But it seems like you are well on your way to being happy with it. Looks like a good first date to me! [laugh]

Is it truely a dao?  I still get confused on that. That should be tha same as my sr9c which is striker fired. The motion of the slide puts it half cocked so to speak.  Pulling the trigger finishes that and releases the firing pin to do it's job.

And don't forget to post your shootin' iron pictures in the "show off your guns" thread. Folks like to look at that thread when they don't want to read through all our BS on this thread. [thumbsup]

Passed my CCW

Not bad, three outliers, but still in the highest scoring area for the CCW class.  30 Rounds.

No real limit, distance was only 3, 5, and 7 yards.  Two of the outliers were me a result of shooting double action instead of single action.  Not overly impressive, but not bad considering I don't have much practice (about 50-60 rounds worth) of practice.

Texas has a 50 round qualifier. 5, 7 and 15 yards. Limited number of rounds fired per string of fire and set times.

Congrats on the score! [thumbsup] I hate the renewal classes. It's frightening to see how poorly a lot of folks shoot and they already have a CCW license! Jeez, come on. Do you only fire your gun at renewal classes once every five years?? [bang] A lot of them sure make it look that way. :P Sad and scary. [roll]

In NC, we don't have to do anything to re-certify aside from setting up an appointment with the Sheriff's office for a new background check every 5 years.

Yea, I saw some scary shooting. Some were using the ENTIRE silhouette...  I was unhappy I got the three outliers in the "8" ring.

Something I thought unusual - we had 32 people in the class.  Only 1 Glock in the entire class.

OK, this is about a week and a half early but it's been on my mind. On Tuesday March 29th we will be celebrating the 100th anniversary of the 1911 .45acp pistol being adopted by the US military!! [clap] [bow_down] A hundred years old and still kicking butt in the market place with untold numbers of current manufacturers. You know you've got it going on when even Smith & Wesson makes one! [laugh] I bet John Browning is up there with a big shit eating grin on his face. And he deserves it!! ;D

May just have to go to the range that Tuesday and bust a few .45s to celebrate. [thumbsup] [beer]

Speaking of 1911's, does anyone know who makes good 10mm 1911 mags?  I took my Razorback out today and after finally getting the extraction/ejection issues sorted, I'm still having feeding issues.
