In the tutorial section, the manner in which everything is list can sometimes irk me.
I would not mind helping out, if it is possible... but I would like a tutorial section where you open the main page, and on the page a table page can be set up where the tutorials are list in proper alphabetical order/category. Do away with title text that say "tutorial" or "how to" and each topic would be part or process specific. Like main headings Engine, Frame, Electrical, Aftermarket... then sub headings in alpha with specific topics that are hyperlinked to the posts.

New posts would of course have to be added to the table, but it would allow someone to efficiently find what they are looking for. Since the original post would still hold the original hyperlink, it's just a maintenance issue with updating the "sticky" that would have the BIG LIST.

Let me know if you want help for this, I can post or email an example that is functional or at least try to and see how it works.

I sorted through about every tut page and sorted them. If I can get it into a table without much effort or embed the hyperlinks it would look nicer... but here it is.

Right now were working on getting the home page to work.

When that's done I'll look into your idea.

Someone suggested the same type of thing for the faq page.

Since you already posted this list over there I stickied and locked it.

I think that's the only way of doing it anyway.

Now that there are more than just a coupla Tutorials getting them organized is great.   waytogo

I've been independently toying with starting to get the FAQ section together in a similar fashion.  It would include the current FAQs, new FAQS written by whomever and the existing Tutorials.  That was the FAQ section's original intent.    I haven't done anything yet because (a) the DMF is still developing a library of knowledge here -- the TOB had years worth of info; (b) it's hard to get motivated to do it a second time; and (c) I've been doin' other stuff like riding.   Grin  It would be excellent if there was a small group of people specifically willing to put in the time to work on the FAQ section as a project.

i like the idea of those boards getting organized, and also the idea of anyone with the time and inclination to help out.
but i also think its important that whatever final "organization" that takes place is uniform.

i.e -- if How-To gets set up to look like the example that msincredible posted above, then the FAQ should be set up the same way.

it would also be a good idea to have a "submit a FAQ" and "submit How To", similar to "report to moderator". essentially a PM function, this could either go to whichever mod picked it up, or to a designated individual. that person would review the post, to insure that it belonged in FAQ or How To, and then post it to the appropriate board. this would help to keep the "how do i....?" questions from overwhelming those boards.

anyway, thats my .02
spent now...
