As I have recently posted, you can't argue with math.

Dude, I remember the day I got the email from the girl I was just sure was the only person I was going to love that way say that she is engaged. I actually threw up. Here's the thing, I now know that what I loved about her didn't actually exist. I loved this idea of her that I had. This person I put on a pedastal didn't actually exist. If we had ended up together it would have been bad in the long term. But still, this guy just had to be a douchebag because he was in the military and this girl and I were hippie liberal English major types. What did she see in that knuckle dragger?

Here's the strange part:
1) I met a woman (through the DML!) that I wouldn't trade for all the tea in china. I married her. Our first anniversary is coming up in a month.
2) I asked her to be my wife in a small town in Germany where her parents lived in the 60s.
3) A few days later we took the train up to the NATO base where the girl I had previously thought was the love of my life was living with her husband.
4) Turns out he was a really nice guy and that I was really glad that every thing turned out the way it did.

The moral of the story:
Just keep being a nice guy. For every nice guy out there that gets shit on by a girl he loves, there is a nice girl who has recently realized that she has been dating assholes and wants to make a change.

In the meantime beer is cheaper than therapy.

Just think about the fact that it could be worse.  You could have woken up to a dog licking your face, while the owner who happens to be a woman is laughing at you because you are completely naked with you're back half painted like a tiger in the middle of an open field in a park.  It gets worse when you have to ask for her phone to call up a friend and you have to wait 26 minutes before he shows up with clothes making you hide in the woods hoping that those directions that a complete stranger gave him were correct.  Then you get to spend the rest of the day trying to figure out when you're clothes fell off hoping that you can find everything including your wallet with $50 in it and you're brand new cell phone :-\.  But it does get better because after piecing your stuff together from seven different houses, you still have everything including the $50 and you scored a number from a looker that saw you naked in all you're glory that wants to go out to dinner with you sometime ;D.  There are some great stories from college...I'm just sayin'

Almost started the day off early!!   :-[

A large can of Rockstar and Guinness Draught are very similar in color and size.  Still sleepy this morning and blindly reaching into the fridge, I didn't distinguish between the two.

Luckily, I noticed in the car before getting to one of the schools I work at!!  That..for sure..would not have gone well!   :-X 

Although..having a little buzz would have made today go by a lot better!  IT's the end of the school year, I'm getting ready to move and of course, this last week is going to be sh*t!

I wanted to take this moment to thank Vegas for setting me free a day early.  Thank you for keeping me high and delirious on vodka and red bull for 2 1/2 straight sleepless days.  Thank you to T who found my purse and shoes for me and to Blake who made sure that I arrived to the bathroom floor with all of my clothes on.  Thank you to Matty for the art show tour (was that guy seriously selling salt on canvas?).  Thank you to the bartender at that strange Japanese restaurant for kicking us out (I didn't mean what I said about your tie).  Thank you to Uncle D for making us forget to eat for two days.  Thank you to the girl with the hugest (I mean hugest) chest I have ever seen, your dance moves at the 944 party were amazing and the boys loved squirting you with their guns (duh! water guns).  Thank you Hard Rock for the grown-up bouncy castle, the balls in there gave me a bloody nose.  Thank you Dave (or Greg?) for buying us pizza and making us eat.  Finally- props to the famous rapper guy with Ice-T(sorry-don't know your name) who dug my Duc tank and asked me about my bike.  I am sorry that I walked away from you and made my friends mad.  Oh, and thank you Vegas for only taking $40 of mine the whole trip!!!  [thumbsup] And if I did anything naughty or offensive to anyone when I was there, you know the rules.  Ok-not drunk now, but it's sort of a confessional/thankful  kind of thing.  Thanks.

Downtown in Berkeley has the strange liquors, and a "Sylph" with the new local absinthe tastes marvelous if you like horehound candies.  i personally don't believe that the FDA/DEA allows enough wormwood/thujone to let domestic absinthe ACTUALLY be anything more than high-test licorice liquor, but whatever.  it's got a nifty taste and.. crap.. it's HIGH TEST if nothing else, woo!

Downtown's funny bartenders will also talk booze and the making of, and even when they're in a hurry if you're asking questions they'll help you out.
the little guy with dark hair will talk martini philosophy and mechanics, and the red-head foofy haired lady (not there tonight) has helped me out with goofy liquor.  ... Downtown also has the VEP Chartreuse. it's my favorite expensive bar.

M8 turned 43 so i took public transport in and then we barhopped.

Speaking of Pale Ales, I managed a bit of an experiment tonight.  First was a six of Schlafly pale ale followed by  a trip to the gas station for a six of Boulevard Pale ale (the only reason I went for the second batch was because I ran out of the first).  The Boulevard definitely has the tiniest bit more hop flavor and I think goes down a bit easier than the Schlafly.  Then again, I may be drunk.   Eh, nothing an evening of Rambo and Cliffhanger can't cure....
